RMI’s unique support approach to contractors and specifiers serves as a model to match like-qualified experts at each phase of technical sales services to assist a building owner, specifier and contractor to integrate condition specific assessment for project viability, evaluation, pre-design, specifications, drawings and finished installation. This vertical integration of services is intended to provide a quality finished installation.

RMI analyzed successful contractors and specifiers. A common set of successful traits were evident; The owner or principal had surrounded themselves with quality experts at each phase of their business.

RMI came to the conclusion that the manufacturing sector has historically had the wrong approach in supporting its customers. Instead RMI’s technical sales model developed a team of internal specialists from point A to point Z including sales, technical experts, consultants, field services to assist contractors, consultants, architects and owners in every phase of a project without typical duplications and disconnects.  It just simply works. RMI also has an in-house minority services specialist to assist contractors in minority certification programs

CO-OP PURCHASING

Type:
  • Qualify for Co-Op Purchasing.
Purpose:
  • The opportunity to utilize specialized programs for the purchase of materials.
Overview:
  • RMI through its experience in the referenced programs has utilized its internal expertise to assist contractors in purchasing fulfillment practices.
Description:
  • Co-op Purchasing: Assist contractor in qualifying and signing up for programs. For certain programs, RMI is already a registered vendor and a certified RMI contractor may be eligible to participate under RMI’s vendor number.

DISASTER SERVICES

Type:
  • Storm damage response.
Purpose:
  • Assisting contractors, specifiers and building owners in assessments and scope of work for storm related damage.
Overview:
  • Developed through the eyes of experienced storm damage roofing professionals to meet the needs of a claim adjuster and/or contractor to provide a building owner with a realistic assessment of damage, costs and repair options.
Description:
  • This service is primarily intended for emergency response to roofing and waterproofing damage to the building envelope. “Damage” would be defined as a condition due to fire, tornado, hurricane, earthquake or other manmade or natural disaster compromising the roof/building envelope’s waterproof integrity in a manner to cause damage to the roof system. This is not a preventative or pre-emptive program; it is strictly after the point of damage has occurred.

RMI-ESTIMATOR-EDUCATION-PROGRAM

Type:
  • Interactive education.
Purpose:
  • A working framework for all RMI services to improve efficiency and eliminate potential misunderstandings between contractor, specifier, building owner and manufacturer.
Overview:
  • Developed for newly approved RMI contractors, existing estimators or newly hired estimators. Direct interface supports continuity of all RMI manufacturer services. The success of any business relationship is to explore and accurately define the customer’s needs. Once achieved, tailored customer solutions can be provided for those needs. This is designed to achieve this in the shortest amount of time.
Key Points:
  • Customer focused thorough exploratory questions to determine building owner needs/wants prior bid preparation.
  • Roof Condition: Time tested requirements and procedures to accurately determine existing condition and compatibility.
  • Material Properties: Match the appropriate material and RMI specification guide manual configuration to the existing roof condition and building owner needs.

FIELD SERVICES & CONTRACTOR TRAINING

Type:
  • Material and equipment training.
Purpose:
  • Provide applicable training to the contactors field applicators for an understanding of material properties, equipment used, knowledge of how the materials work under varying conditions and how equipment functions, and its maintenance with the intent of providing a level of expertise when applying materials using applicable equipment.
Overview:
  • The success of any training is predicated on clear instruction and the ability of the installing contractor to quickly comprehend, apply and perform those tasks.
Description:
  • Hands on shoulder to shoulder training with RMI materials. Reviewing the processes of preparation and applying the various components and applied rates within the field application process.
  • Covers the application process of the materials to a particular substrate and finished mil thickness for desired performance, curing and warranty requirements, before moving on to the next step.
  • Provide hands on training with the RMI equipment used to spray the RMI materials. Understanding the ins-and-outs of all equipment used in the spraying or hand application process.
Key Points:
  • Preparation: Substrate preparation before an RMI system is applied to an intended substrate.
  • Materials: Focuses on each type of material used in the RMI fluid applied membrane process.
  • Equipment: Training of spray equipment and or hand application tools used in the process of applying a finished RMI system.

MINORITY PARTICIPATION

Type:
  • Certifications and qualifications.
Purpose:
  • The opportunity to utilize specialized programs for contracting opportunities.
Overview:
  • RMI through its experience in the referenced programs has utilized its internal expertise to assist contractors in contract fulfillment. This includes walking contractors through difficulties typically encountered within this process.
Description:
  • Minority Participation: Assist contractors in meeting a project’s minority participation requirement including material acquisition.
  • WBE: Assist contractors with eligibility requirements when working with projects requiring Federal, State or Corporate Women Business Enterprise (WBE) requirements.
  • DBE: Assist contractors with eligibility requirements when working with projects requiring Federal or State Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements.
  • HUB: Assist contractors with eligibility and projects within the state of Texas HUB Program which facilitates the use of HUB’s in the state procurement process for minority and woman-owned businesses.

PROJECT EVALUATIONS

Type:
  • Evaluation documents.
Purpose:
  • Assist contractor and specifier in predesign and project qualification.
Overview:
  • In order for a specifier or contractor to either prepare specifications or a bid proposal, they may require visual assistance to convey their intent of design or to complete a bid proposal for their client.
Description:
  • Evaluation documents can be customized to meet a specifier or contractor’s client needs. This may include scope of work, summary system design, photo logs and custom CAD.

SPECIFICATIONS & DRAWINGS

Type:
  • Project Documentation.
Purpose:
  • Assisting specifiers and contractors in their interface with RMI system requirements utilizing Scopes of Work, CSI specifications and CAD details.
Overview:
  • Developed through the eyes and needs of the specifier to produce conditions specific project documentation.
Description:
  • RMI has included detailed notes and comments allowing the specifier to compare existing system configurations against varying restrictions, and conditions to ensure finished condition specific documents.
  • Scope of Work: Follows a CSI format but condensed to provide the same detail of work found in typical CSI sections but in a condensed format.
  • Specification templates by substrate and existing roof system, in CSI format with a multitude of variations for preparation, repairs and finished system thickness.
  • Detail drawings are available in both PDF and DWG formats. Detail Notes provide a list of condition specific options for consideration.

Overview:

RMI’s Architectural Program has been developed looking through the eyes and needs of the specifier. RMI eliminated the typical project disconnects between a specifier, contractor and manufacturer.  It is intended to be an interactive extension of the specifier. Our in-house Architectural team has years of independently specifying RMI & other roofing/waterproofing systems.  RMI understands sitting on the Architects & Owners side of the table.

Individual Project Registration:

  • Rmi will review the project and discuss this with the project specifier for feasibility and condition specific requirements.
  • On an “as desired” basis, rmi will work with your project specifier in review or draft preparation of documents
  • Rmi product defect warranty coverage is extended to the architect/specifier for a period not to exceed 10 years dependent upon project design

WARRANTY SERVICES

Type:
  • Documentation & Quality Assurance.
Purpose:
  • Assisting specifiers and contractors with RMI requirements for warranty approval and issuance.
Overview:
  • RMI methodology is predicated upon a series of checks and balances to ensure that project requirements are met.
Description:
  • All parties should fully understand their obligations. Coverage is limited to waterproofing & coating systems manufactured by (RMI) unless otherwise specifically stated in the warranty.
  • Product performance depends on many factors. In order to warranty a specific application, the assurances, participation and defined liability of all responsible parties involved in both application and maintenance are necessary.
  • If a project requires additional coverage beyond terms of the RMI warranty, it is the Owner and Certified Contractor’s responsibility to prepare those individually and separately from the RMI warranty.
