OUR INDUSTRY IDENTITY

RMI manufactures fluid membranes designed and tested for waterproofing commercial rooftops. As a manufacturer, we value fellow manufacturer’s vigorous development of roofing systems for the commercial market that respond to demanding building codes and environmental needs. We acknowledge that satisfying commercial building owner’s unique requirements requires professional commercial roofing contractors with a desire for specialized growth and dedication to quality.  In developing our technical sale methodology we were cognizant that historically collaboration between owner, manufacturer and roofing contractor to fulfill this roofing mission is erratic, but obtainable when all work from an established, clarified and agreed upon business model based upon a design-build methodology.  RMI operates today on this premise as we have successfully integrated a proven model from experts in roof design, testing and construction management.

RMI participates with commercial roofing contractors seeking an authentic business relationship that consistently fulfills the business needs of today’s customers while protecting the integrity of the synergy required by manufacturer and roofing contractor. As a manufacturer of fluid applied systems, we are acquainted with commercial roofing contractors that have been over committed to, under delivered to and rewarded with a residual sting by some manufacturers. We believe in personal responsibility, as such, we are not in a position to apologize for the shortcomings of others but invite contractors with these shared values to participate in a superior business model that seeks to remove the sting from failed business relationships of the past. 

We are RMI, the leading innovator of true roofing systems derived from onsite fluid applications. We are not a coating, we are not a patch, but a true fluid applied system possessing the same integrity as a single ply waterproof membrane or roll sheet vapor barrier in waterproofing ability, cooling agility, material property capability and warranty security. 

Our industry model can reduce the exposure to both the building owner and roofing contractor from commercial roofing failures resulting from the misapplication of roofing materials and/or project mismanagement. We recognize the risks of using business platitudes but are required to establish the framework of our methodology for those owners, specifiers and roofing contractors genuinely inclined to inquire about our services. Our business methodology is deliberate and different by design to assist long term business growth. As such, the following are RMI corporate attributes.

OUR SALES AND SERVICE ATTRIBUTES

We do not have independent sales representatives, nor do we utilize distribution yards anywhere in the United States to sell or educate roofing contractors about RMI roof systems. RMI has a diversified technical team comprised of business, field services, and technical managers trained in commercial project education, coordination, installation and risk management for commercial roofing. We do sell repair material in small quantities for small repair jobs, but these are not for manufacturer material and labor warranted roof systems.

We do not offer our material for our manufacturer material and labor warranted roof systems to everyone. RMI roof system installations are restricted to a limited professional contractor base across the United States. A limited contractor base requires RMI to work diligently with its existing contractor base to discover the needs and impartial solutions for waterproofing a commercial roof with a high level of accuracy. RMI contractors receive a high level of manufacturer service that focuses on the long term success of an RMI roof system. All of this supports our objective that each and every building owner/manager should receive an impartial bid and recommendations from their roofing contractor for the appropriate roof system, even if those recommendations are not for an RMI roof system. We believe this type of impartiality best serves the customer, contractor and manufacturer. We are comfortable stating that RMI is not the solution for every commercial roof problem, but when and where applicable, an RMI roof system will provide superior long term solutions for all contributing parties.

OUR CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATION PROCEDURES

The nature of our business methodology requires us to qualify roofing contractors inquiring about RMI roof systems. We have strict guidelines to protect the synergy between our exiting contractors, building owners, specifiers and ourselves. We are serious about the roofing business and have no desire to take naïve risks.  Regardless of size, we do not approve roofing contractors for a standalone single projects. If necessary, we can connect a roofing contractor with an RMI contractor to discuss this type of project.

Only qualified roofing contractors seeking to enter our approved contractor base with this understanding receive approval.  We do not oversaturate a market and maintain no more contractors than a targeted market can successfully support.  When applicable, our existing RMI contractors participate in the approval process for those seeking entry into the RMI program. Our aim is to maintain uniform set of contractor quality and business practices in a target market. Something to think about the next time you are on a job walk with twenty other contractors approved for the same manufacturer but do not have the same qualifications or reputation as you.

Let’s face it, regardless of the amount of marketing done by a manufacturer; roofing contractors use the materials they are sold on. Additionally, it’s difficult to get a roofing contractor to change their mind about a material that saved them or burned them.  Our blueprint is simple; we are not looking for a roofing contractor but a contractor who predicates their business on an understanding of design, construction practices and how to successfully run a business.  We are looking for the contractor that everyone else respects at a bid walk and considers a good competitor.  If you are that contractor and think our companies are potential fit, then we invite you to contact us to schedule a pre-qualification meeting to explore our mutual industry goals.
